What pisses me off is when people say “Oh, women are so selfish when they get an abortion because it’s ‘inconvenient’ for their lives.”
I’m sorry but really?!
A bus being late is inconvenient. Having to take an alternate route to work is inconvenient.Having to carry, give birth to and raise a child is a huge, life changing thing that will impact everything the person does for the rest of their lives (or the next 18 years at least).
Of course there is the fact that adoption is an option but the pregnant person (cause not everyone with a uterus even identifies as female) would still have to go through nine months of pregnancy and everything that goes with it.
Then comes the childbirth, which many people say is the worst pain they have ever felt. My own mother was in labour with me for sixteen hours and eventually had to have a C-Section, leaving her scarred.
Imagine going through 9 months of hard, forced pregnancy, hours upon hours of the worst pain you have ever felt even though you know there’s nothing good coming out of this then giving up the baby you never wanted to carry and birth in the first place.
Does any of that sound just like an ‘inconvenience’ to you?
